Oak School Site Council:
The State of California requires each school to have a School Site Council (SCC) made up of parents, teachers and the principal to provide a forum for parents and school staff to work together to improve school programs. The SSC reviews the progress of the school in achieving the goals as put forth by the Board of Trustees and district personnel each year. It is the role of the Site Council to advise the principal and staff on the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the overall school program and to allocate special categorical funds from the state to support the goals of the school.
The SSC also sponsers the Life Skills program at Oak to further student character development. One major topic is addressed each month:
| September: | Respect |
| October: | Responsibility |
| November: | Organization |
| December: | Caring |
| January: | Effort |
| February: | Teamwork |
| March: | Trustworthiness |
| April: | Sense of Humor |
| May/June: | Fairness |
Meeting Dates:
SCC meetings are open to all interested Oak parents. They are currently scheduled for Mondays at 3:30pm in the Oak Library on these dates: Sept 5 - Oct 2 - Nov 6 - Feb 5 - Mar 5 - May 7
