How YOU Can Contribute to the Oak Auction!
The Parent-sponsored parties and events at last year’s Auction were extremely popular! Here were some highlights:
- The Zuckers, Cahills and Robinsons hosted an unforgettable Broomball party
- Heather Grillo, Karen Zucker, Lynne Izbicki and Missy Robinson hosted an elegant and delicious “Back-to-School Luncheon” for Moms
- Cheryl Bystrom, Rita Martin and Jill Webster served up a fabulous night with their 1st annual Mom’s Martini Night
- The Kapps, Levys and Santoses hosted a six-course gourmet dinner for 10 (this event was so popular that they agreed to host two dinners)
- Geetu Verma delivered her delicious Indian-theme dinner with two friends, Sangeeta Luthra and Bela Sohoni
- The Lutz, Menand and Hurley Families provided a scrumptious Brazilian style dinner for 8
- The Maciags sponsored a memorable evening of wine tasting at Vino101 for 10 couples
- The Brooks opened up their home media pub for the March Madness NCAA finals, fully catered by Bon Appetit
- Chris Conroy sponsored a field trip to his commercial studio where kids learned about photography and had tons of fun
- The Auerbachs, Cruzes, Chaos, Dennedys, and Lessings donated their tickets to popular sporting events
- The Ahrens donated an extravagant weekend getaway to San Francisco
- The Barkers sponsored a behind-the-scenes tour at Electronic Arts
Included in this week’s Notes from Oak is a flyer, “Oak School Auction 2008 – Donation Form.” Pull some of your friends together, get creative and sponsor a fun-filled event! Here are some potential ideas to get you started:

- Pool Party (for kids and/or adults)
- Poker Party for Dads
- Laserquest Party
- Amazing Race in Los Altos
- Progressive Party – in your neighborhood
- Donations of Sports tickets & Restaurant gift certificates
- Bottle of Wine for our Wine Wall Raffle

Instructions for a "Fund-a-Cause" event
At the Oak Auction we will be asking parents to raise their paddles and contribute to a "Fund-a-Cause". The proceeds will be used to purchase new lunch tables for the students! The $500 (and above) donation level will include a Personalized Plaque that will be placed on the new lunch table. If you are attending the Auction, please "raise your paddle" for this terrific cause. If you are unable to attend the Auction, there is a box on the RSVP card to donate as well.
