Earth Week Fair 2008 |
Joining the proud main organizers of the Earth Week Fair, Oak School’s 6th Grade Girl Scout Troup 60435, is a very impressive line-up of state, county and local agencies, environmental organizations as well as local “green” and “eco-friendly” vendors and student groups as exhibitors contributing to this important occasion. The goal of the event is to increase the awareness of human and environmental interactions that cause damaging effects to our ecosystems and to offer simple, easy-to-achieve solutions for adults and children alike.
Showcasing a variety of topics on recycling, global warming, endangered species, and carbon “footprints” through interactive computer displays, participants will also have the opportunity to purchase plants grown by Oak School’s Nature Club and participate in fun children activities that provide a learning experience as to how to preserve our precious environment, among many other exciting activities.
Additional sponsors include Oak School Girl Scout troops 60455, 60416, 60470, The Go Green Committee and Oak School’s Nature Club. Oak Girl Scout Troop 60435 planned this event as their primary focus for earning Girls Scout’s Bronze Award, the highest achievement awarded a Junior Girl Scout.
Please join the event on Wednesday, April 23, from 2:30 to 5:30pm at Oak Elementary School, 1501 Oak Avenue, Los Altos (off Grant Rd, 1 block from Mt View High School). Refreshments will be offered.
